eCALM
eCALM (Electronic Controlling Anger and Learning to Manage it) is the e-learning component of S4Potential’s CALM (Controlling Anger and Learning to Manage it) training program.

CALM is a group training program used to reduce anger, aggression, and emotional loss of control among offenders. The program is created to provide a completely self-guided, highly interactive and engaging learning experience, utilizing ‘best practices’ in adult learning.

eCALM is designed to work in conjunction with conventional CALM Coach training. The goal of eCALM is to provide additional support for counselors – giving them the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the information and skills needed to effectively deliver CALM.

The content covered in eCALM is divided into units and modules. Each unit is made up of several modules which cover one subject area, such as Social Learning/Cognitive Behavior Therapy or Offender Motivation.

Each module is brief and designed to stand alone as a learning experience. Together, the modules create an overall understanding of the subject matter for that specific unit. This approach provides a flexible learning environment for the user, allowing them to focus on the areas that will best augment their personal knowledge base.

This program looks at various topics, both at the unit-level and module-level, including some of the ones listed below;

  • Self-Efficacy
  • Basic categories of Irrational Beliefs
  • Offender Motivation
  • What works in offender rehabilitation
