Mental Media (M²)
Mental Media (M²) is a unique and interactive multimedia treatment program that intelligently applies proven techniques to teach anger management and to prevent substance abuse. M² is a program divided into modules of short and inter-related lessons based on ‘best practices’ to encourage positive living among youth.

M² does much more than just deliver content. Using video, a conversational interface, and interactive exercises, users will learn to understand the causes and conditions underlying their negative and self-harming behaviour. By applying their new knowledge to practical exercises and assignments, youth will be able to make permanent changes to their lifestyles and develop healthy pro-social attitudes and behaviors.

The program is made up of 2 spokes which touch on all important issues essential for program. They are the Anger Management spoke and the Substance Abuse spoke.

Within the anger and substance spokes, there are concepts and approaches that we use to tackle these issues and some of them are;

Anger Spoke

  • Progressive muscle relaxation
  • 'ABC' model
  • Assertiveness skills
  • Relapse prevention

    Substance Spoke
  • Cognitive Restructuring
  • Motivation
  • Relapse prevention

    Relapse Prevention
    A Bill Winogron blog

    When developing our Mental Media substance abuse applications, we found that our best practices exercises tended to focus on solutions only. A key evolution in our product programming was our ability to focus not just on the solution to a behavioral problem, but the prevention of it reocurring… Relapse Prevention. This blog post is simply an outline of one such preventative exercise that we have carried out for substance abuse.
